Landscape Design Project in Ridgewood, New Jersey

RIDGEWOOD WELCOME HOME

This Ridgewood client wanted to redo their tired landscaping with all new plantings.

They requested an English-type garden style with “complexity, bio-diversity, seasonal interest and a variety of specific plants.” They also requested a clearly defined edge along the top of their existing front wall.

Every plant was chosen for its form, bloom sequence, and ecological value, creating a dynamic composition that softens the home’s façade while maintaining its stately presence. Evening lighting accentuates the texture of grasses and the silhouette of the flowering Kwanzan Cherry while Allium, Astilbe, and Roses look fantastic into the evening.

Before

After

Broad drifts of Fountain and Karl Foerster grasses introduce rhythm and motion, their vertical lines dancing in the breeze.

Bold masses of Joe Pye weed, Amsonia, and Astilbe fill the midsummer garden with vibrant color and pollinator-friendly plants, while Russian Sage, Echinacea and ornamental grasses weave in a tapestry of texture and color.

“Thanks for reaching out! Every great landscape starts with a conversation, and we’re glad you started yours with CLC.”
