This Montclair homeowner wanted CLC to help them reimagine their underutilized backyard. From the start, it was clear they were eager to transform the space into an inviting outdoor living area they could truly enjoy.
Our design process began by understanding how they envisioned using the space – for dining, entertaining, and gathering around a fire.
We renovated their classic fireplace which became the centerpiece, grounding the new design and creating a natural focal point for family and friends. We paired this with a porcelain tile patio for a refined yet durable surface and incorporated bluestone slab steps by the back door.
A custom pergola and fully equipped outdoor kitchen were essential additions, extending the functionality of the space and encouraging year-round use.Every design choice was carefully considered to balance beauty with usability, transforming the uninviting yard into a seamless extension of the home’s living space.
