For these Montclair, NJ homeowners, creating a spacious swimming pool for their children was more than a wish — it was a vision for lasting family memories. CLC’s landscape architecture team thoughtfully brought that vision to life, designing a pool environment that balances recreation, comfort, and refined aesthetics.
The pool was strategically positioned in the sunniest portion of the property to maximize warmth and enjoyment throughout the day. To ensure comfort during peak sun hours, a nearby louvered pergola was incorporated, offering adjustable shade and architectural interest. The result is a beautifully integrated outdoor space that delivers both vibrant energy and relaxing retreat — perfectly tailored to the family’s lifestyle.

Evening ambiance is provided by a trifecta of landscape lights, pergola lights, and a natural gas fireplace.
When the backyard renovation was completed, the homeowners asked the CLC team to beautify the front foundation beds. CLC designed and added an assortment of plants with a long-season of interest to include ‘Montgomery’ Blue Spruce, Russian Sage, and ‘Wine and Roses’ Weigela, along with a border of colorful annuals.
