New Jersey Landscape Design Project: Leonia Small Yard Makeover
SMALL YARD MAKEOVER
Our recent project in Leonia, NJ involved transforming a newly renovated home’s backyard into a highly functional and organized space that balances daily family use with entertaining capabilities. Given the relatively limited area, our design aimed to maximize utility while ensuring visual appeals and privacy. The focal point of the design is the composite deck for grilling and dining. We carefully designed the deck to flow seamlessly into the lower sitting/fire pit area creating an inviting transition between different outdoor spaces.
Pea gravel around the lower sitting area allows for the planters to be placed in the middle of the yard, enabling the homeowners to grow vegetables or to plant different and unique plants or flowers like the Crepe Myrtle tree near the fire pit. Thoughtful plantings were incorporated to add to the intimate and private feel the family was looking to achieve. Our design effectively meets the clients’ goals by transforming a limited area into a functional, stylish, and private retreat that enhances daily living and entertainment opportunities.
