New Jersey Landscape Design Project: Franklin Lakes Flora and Fauna
FLORA AND FAUNA
This Franklin Lakes, NJ client’s love of Coleus allowed us to create dramatic color throughout their modest sized property. Keeping the different areas updated with other flowers is part of the fun strategy we develop with the clients each year. With most of the backyard centered around a swim spa and fireplace, it was important to have plenty of large colorful annuals to soften the edges.
Maintenance begins with a spring startup that includes fertilizing, pruning and mulching, followed by lush plantings of annuals once the weather permits. Keeping the annuals and perennials looking clean and fresh requires seasonal deadheading and attention throughout the warmer months. The year ends with the removal of the annuals and the final cleanup to keep everything looking sharp through the winter months.
