This client came to CLC looking to add a deck with an outdoor living area beneath it. Before starting on the deck, we decided to excavate down in order to create a spacious ceiling for the outdoor living area. The deck, which sits on 36″ inch high masonry piers, is made of Trex Transcend and is a large space with plenty of room for friends and family to relax. The outdoor living area beneath the deck is a dry space system that features an all-weather drop ceiling that houses recessed lights. Azek panels were used in order to hide the exterior of the house from the outdoor living space. The outdoor living space screams luxury and comfort with plush couches, a flat screen television, and a gas fireplace. The curtains are mosquito curtains (https://www.mosquitocurtains.com) that are both functional and aesthetic.

Closter Patio and Pool
This client came to us looking to add a pool to their backyard. For this project, we designed a custom gunite swimming pool and surrounded the pool with a paver patio using Hanover pavers. To give the pool a more natural feel, we chose a dive rock instead of a traditional diving board. At the other end of the pool. we built a natural stone waterfall. An added bonus of the waterfall is that it is completely safe for kids and dogs to play in. To finish off the pool area, we selected and installed plants that are well suited for a pool landscape. We also installed a built-in barbecue on the patio. We chose a brick veneer for the built-in barbecue so that it would match the house.

Randolph, NJ Luxurious Backyard
*Winner of 2015 NJNLA Award & 2016 NJLCA Award* Our clients desired a backyard where they would completely relax. The existing site was flat, so to add interest, we created a raised dining patio by the house and a raised spa/waterfall on the backside of the swimming pool. In the sunny backyard, we designed a pergola with louvered roof so it can open in the sun and close in the rain. Our clients had a contemporary style inside their house, so we designed the patio and walk adjacent to the house with angular lines to blend with their contemporary style. As one walks away from the house towards the pool, the style of the landscaping becomes curvilinear and natural as it blends with the surrounding forest. We included elements of boulders, waterfalls, and fire in this more natural area of the landscape design.

Backyard Landscape – Sparta, NJ
*Winner of 2015 NJNLA Award & 2016 NJLCA Award* Starting with a blank slate at this new construction in Sparta, NJ, we wanted to create several outdoor living spaces in the backyard landscape for the young family to enjoy. We designed and installed a large pergola to define the outdoor dining room and to provide some respite from the summer sun. We added lights in the top of the pergola shining down each column to convey the sense of space into the evening. To create more interest, we excavated into the flat backyard and created a slightly sunken fire pit patio. We surrounded the fire pit patio with masonry seat walls to provide overflow seating for parties. On the slope in the rear of the backyard, we installed a border of evergreen trees for screening and in front of the evergreen trees we installed masses of deer-resistant ornamental grasses and perennials to provide seasonal interest.
