This client came to CLC looking to add a deck with an outdoor living area beneath it. Before starting on the deck, we decided to excavate down in order to create a spacious ceiling for the outdoor living area. The deck, which sits on 36″ inch high masonry piers, is made of Trex Transcend and is a large space with plenty of room for friends and family to relax. The outdoor living area beneath the deck is a dry space system that features an all-weather drop ceiling that houses recessed lights. Azek panels were used in order to hide the exterior of the house from the outdoor living space. The outdoor living space screams luxury and comfort with plush couches, a flat screen television, and a gas fireplace. The curtains are mosquito curtains (https://www.mosquitocurtains.com) that are both functional and aesthetic.

This client wanted to replace existing deck with a deck that provided more space for entertaining and spending time outdoors. We designed and built an Ipe deck featuring a custom cable railing. In order to utilize the deck in the evening as well as provide a nice ambiance, we installed built-in lighting on the steps as well as under the cantilevered bench. The bench was built in order to provide extra seating without the need for additional deck furniture.
